149. Vespers—Saturday

{260}
Jam sol recedit igneus.

THE red sun is gone,
       Thou Light of the heart,
Blessed Three, Holy One,
To Thy servants a sun
       Everlasting impart.

There were Lauds in the morn,
       Here are Vespers at even;
Oh, may we adorn
Thy temple new born
       With our voices in Heaven.

To the Father be praise,
       And praise to the Son
And the Spirit always,
While the infinite days
       Of eternity run.
